Rain

summons as much as it imprisons

Pelting raindrops beating a call

A tingling knot, tightening beneath the skin

Cold fingers slip beneath the cracks at the window

Pulling toward a whispering wind

Soul lights up in answer

To the door, steps grow closer

In the moonlight torrent

The heart feels lighter

Soaked skin, saturated hair

Whipped around in the howling air

One can finally breathe

Out of suffocating rooms

With walls growing closer

Drowning in stillness all consuming

Transparent cloth catches, on blades of grass

As bare feet weave their path

Toward a shadowy destination

Waiting on the midnight consummation
